The Album of the year is a black CD from Best Buy.
So, as the weekend comes to a close, the inevitable Yeezus leak has sprung. We’ve seen it before with Kanye’s previous albums, many internet/fan artists coming forward, claiming to be the official art. But, this time it is a whole site dedicated to Yeezus art. Yeezy Graffiti. Check out some of my favorites, or least favorites below.
The first released album art. I still don’t know what this is.
The Good:
Probably one of my favorites by far.Matches The Ye ego and has all the subtle Kanye Touches. Misses the minimalistic feel of the album though.Just visually cool to look at.I’m a fan of the simple design.Simple, Clean, Dope and follows the mood of the album the best. This Would have been a PERFECT cover for Good Ass Job. But, I gave up on that dream two albums ago.
The Bad (or just lacking):
Simple subtle message of album. Decent but very basic. I could have done this with MS Paint back in the 90s.Combining Watch the Throne & MBTDF with a Religious connection, shiny but still lazy.A cool picture of the live show. But, that’s all it was. Horrible Font Choice also.Looks like more of an advertisement for his shoes than an album.
The Bad (Creepy ones that probably won’t touch my iPod.):
Let the illuminati references begin. And we have it in color.Screams uncontrollably.Continues with bejeweled fear! This one is just so unsettling to look at for me. From the upside-down cross to the demon tongues to the apparent devil on his right hand. A little too much for me.Going a little too far. Seemed really pompous compared to his already egotistical direction for this album.Actually not half bad, I just feel sick looking at it for too long. Plus the Bathing Ape hoodie was three albums ago. I do like the shout out to all his past albums and singles in the background though.
And Look what is going on with the Poor KanTedye Bear. He is Re-inacting the Passion of Christ.
Everyone is talking about you TedYe BearYet you are still so lonely. It’s so dark.We Can’t even Recognize you anymore.TedYe Bear!!! No!!! (Besides this being horribly graphic for pic art. Poor TedYe Bear is being tortured and forced to watch his blood make maple leaves.)Poor Tedye Bear, we knew ye wellWait! TedYe Bear? Where is he?!? (This has numerous implications and connects well to the beheaded Kanye head from the MBDTF alternate covers.)
And then what happens?
Well, I guess that makes things somewhat better.
Overall, all the album covers range from ambitious to lazy to genius and fun. I had fun just organizing them into this post.
I thought this one was really dope but they threw in Cole’s Born Sinner Crown which I can’t mix artists like that. Still super dope.
And while I’m at it.
Go Pick it up!
Definitely the artwork I’m riding with.
But, what if you are like, “Miles, I like my music with an undercurrent of Devil Worshipping.” Here you go.
Kanye can’t monopolize ALL the dark fan art album covers.
I'm a little dreamer with big dreams that wants to be far from ordinary and go anywhere that's not familiar. The Lord is my guide as I attempt to improve, not just my own, but everyone's quality of life.
