Reader’s Choice: What now? (Inauguration Day) Pt.2

This is part 2 of my response to my friend China (@stylerepublik on Snap and IG) and her thoughts on what are we going to do now that Lex Luthor and his Legion of Doom are running the United States. See part one here.

SR:Are we going to challenge ourselves to be better? Are we going to exercise and condition our brains for healthy information?

We must make a choice for continuous improvement. If your education stopped or the betterment of your life halted once you left college, you are doing yourself a disservice. Our minds function better with proper nutrition, rest, and a physically fit body. You have one body for the rest of your life, you deserve it to be impeccable. This means pushing for continuous growth: reading more, exercising, eating moderately, self-care, balance, and mental preparedness. People burn out without the proper when any of these are ignored or highlighted too much.

How do you condition yourself? Exercise, drink water, eat a balanced diet, sleep, and read. It makes a difference.

SR: Are we going to show real support and love?

For many years, I would hear people talking about the meaning of life: why are we here? There are thousands of stories are written about the quest for this answer and I can tell you in one sentence. The meaning of life is to make life better for others. With that being said, this is not a once in a while thing. It’s also not easy. That means that we must make a choice continuously to give back. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to be “woke” 24/7. On the contrary, it’s better if you are not continuously fighting “the man”.

Unplug from social media. If you feel overwhelmed, pause and think about the source of your stress. Step away from it for a while. I promise that the issues you are struggling with will remain there while you are gone. If not, there is always someone you can tag in for relief. Injustice is a great cause to fight against but the last thing we need are a bunch of war-torn soldiers stressing on social media for 17 hours a day. It’s not worth your sanity.

This brings me into the later point of surviving in a world when everything else seems to have gone crazy. Love one another. Everyone doesn’t need to fight the same way. Some people are great with protests while others are better strategizing. Some may be fundraisers, while others me be just want to focus on law or healthcare. Everyone does not need to be doing the same thing, but we all need to be on the same page. Bettering yourself is paramount as long as you don’t sacrifice your peers to do it. That means, we must stop tearing each other down.

Talk to each other, educate, and if someone does not agree with your views, wish the health and wealth, and let God handle the rest. God gave you a specific purpose and path, others have their own. The most important self-care tip is realizing that others have their own timetables and pathway that we will not understand. Embrace who you are, love yourself, and respect others. Otherwise we will destroy ourselves in the process of being “the resistance”.

How would you answer these questions? What do you think are the next steps in a Tangerine USA? Thoughts about my responses? Please leave questions, comments, ideas, and thoughts in the comments below.

I'm a little dreamer with big dreams that wants to be far from ordinary and go anywhere that's not familiar. The Lord is my guide as I attempt to improve, not just my own, but everyone's quality of life.
