While it has not been confirmed, the internet is abuzz with the possibility of Beyoncé giving birth to her second and third child. Continuing with Women’s Week here at Everything’s Magnificent, why not highlight the Queen Bey?
While I am not a card-carrying member of the Hive™, I do respect greatly what she symbolizes for women worldwide with a particular focus on Black Women. Her showmanship and performances are things of legend. Her movies have been successful. Her music has always connected with larger and larger groups of fans and she has grown greatly since No, No, No in 1997. But, her most recently pregnancy is what I’ve marveled at.
In short, she has pushed the notion of pregnancy to a thing of beauty with her amazing photo shoots and embracing the image of a goddess of fertility. She even had numerous articles saying nothing was special about her pregnancy which exemplified the exact opposite. If even your pregnancy makes people upset, you hold a special type of power in the world. Even the idea that Jay-Z, commonly referred to as the Greatest of All Time, has been reduced to Beyoncé’s husband. I can’t even be mad.
I look forward to a day to watch my wife grow as she overflows with love and life. I wait patiently for the headaches, pains, and tears because it is my duty to support her as she creates magic. I await patiently for the opportunity to grow with my “unknown future wife” so I can be in the presence of God. All of His majesty manifests in her miracle, humbling me to awe and gratitude. Pregnancy is amazing and I respect all mothers. You are stronger than most men will ever admit.
Beyond that, no matter what our government says or men on these e-streets say, pregnancy is a beautiful thing that should be cherished. While I am not ready for that duty yet, I am brought to my knees when thinking about the power of women. You make us whole when life would be hollow.
“I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men. They are far superior and always have been. Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she’ll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she’ll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her… “
Sir William Golding
All of that is true. I wanted this week to symbolize how without women, we, as men, are nothing. You strength, heart, wisdom, courage, vision, faith, tenacity, beauty, and so much more are unparalleled. I love you and everything you are. I patiently await for my lessons from growing old and wise with you. I guarantee that I would be equally as happy as Papa Carter.

P.S. I think it’s amazing the spell check corrects Beyoncé with the accent mark automatically.
