My first post of this year, Working the Land, ended up setting the pace for many areas of my life. I haven’t talked about the prophetic here yet, but I didn’t even comprehend some of the things that were spoken over my own life by me. I didn’t grasp how deep God wanted me to go.

My Identity in Him, Her, and Them

Until recently, I’ve been desperately searching for a sense of meaning while loneliness, hopelessness, and restlessness swallowed me whole. Sickness moved in as I began losing confidence in myself and the world around me. I lost my ability to interact with others as people have been become more apathetic and the notion of the United States is changing under my feet.

Sailing through the Storm (Pt. 1)

Still water, untouched and unmoved, almost appearing as glass, reaching far beyond the horizon into the unknown. Clear blue skies enable you to see the shore and the wind feels good on your skin. Everything is perfect as you sail out to parts unknown. You can still close your eyes and envision the crowd of loved ones cheering you on as you set out for another quest. Life is good, until it isn’t.

Yesterday, I was talking with a mentee about love, life, and everything in between. God and the concept of prayer came up. A Moment’s Reprise

I had planned to write about SZA’s CTRL album as I’ve been listening to at, reading the lyrics, and finding interviews all week. However, I find myself with a heavy heart today. The murder of Philando Castile by Officer Jeronimo Yanez reached complete acquittal of all charges today. I’m sick.
